Sea World San Diego - An Unforgettable Experience

San Diego Sea World, opened in 1964, is one of the most heavily marketed attractions in San Diego. This marine park covers over 150 acres of Mission Bay celebrated its 40th year of operation in 2004 offers its visitors with fun-filled entertainment for full day. In the San Diego Sea World, you will be treated with Rides, Shows, Attractions and Special events. To start off you day, you may want to take both the Sea World Skyride and the Sea World Skytower. The Skyride will take you slowly across the Mission Bay where you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Mission Bay Park. Whereas for the Skytower, you will be brought up vertically and have a breathtaking panoramic view of San Diego skyline. These two rides will give you a brief introduction of the aquatic theme park.
After the introduction ride, it is show time. You may want to visit the most famous show in the theme park. That is the Believe Shamu Show - the killer whale. This remarkable show demonstrated the intimate relationship between the trainers and the killer whales, and you will be amazed by the killer whales with a series of acrobatic performing feats. Your next stop could be the fast-paced Dolphin Discovery. In this show, high-energy bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales splash in water playfully and surprise you with some comical moments. This fast-paced show also features tail-walks, spinning jumps and back-flips. Beware, you might get wet if you are seated in the first 10 rows of Dolphin Stadium. But this is part of the fun of it.
If you are visiting San Diego Sea World during Spring and Summer, do not miss the Shamu Rocks performing nightly which hail as the hottest high show. Another nighttime comedy, Sea Lion Tonite, which is a humorous variety show staring sea lions Clyde and Seamore with the wacky stage manager. Other shows not to be missed are the Riptide, Skyblast, the nightly firework, Clyde and Seamore’s Risky Rescue, Pets, R.L. Stine’s Haunted Lighthouse and Cirque de la Mer (Summer only). There are just too many shows waiting for you.
There are also many exciting rides that you may want to give a try. One of the rides is Journey To Atlantis. This is a water coaster ride that will bring you through uncharted waters where mysterious mists and unpredictable drops lurk around every turn. Be expected to plunge down eight stories and get drenched. The next exciting ride is the Shipwreck rapids where you will sit on a raft-like inner tube together with other passengers enjoying an exciting five-minute journey through an isolated South Sea island. Next visit the Wild Artic, a simulated jet helicopter flies you to a remote research station to experience a wild adventure of real bumps, jumps and zips.
Other attractions to visit are the Rocky Point Preserve, Shark Encounter, Penguin Encounter, Forbidden Reef, Manatee Rescue, Shamu’s Happy Harbor, Coco Loco Arcade and Games, California Tide Pool, Freshwater Aquarium, Aquarium de la Mer, World of the Sea Aquarium, Flamingo Cove, and Pacific Point.
With such an enormous amount of activities, attraction and rides, San Diego Sea World will hold you or your kids for hours.
